Significant progress has been made in resuming the issuance of visas to Bangladeshis by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) following sustainable diplomatic engagement between the two countries, according to Abdullah Ali Al-Hamoudi, the UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh. He stated that the UAE Embassy in Dhaka is currently issuing 30 to 50 visit visas per day.

The UAE Ambassador made these remarks on Sunday (May 4) afternoon during a meeting with the Special Envoy to the Chief Adviser, Lutf Siddiqi. This information was shared in a message issued by the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser.
During the meeting, the Ambassador praised Lutf Siddiqi’s recent active engagement with the UAE government, which included more than half a dozen ministerial-level visits. These visits covered a range of topics—from visa facilitation to investment cooperation.
Ambassador Al-Hamoudi informed the Special Envoy that the UAE Embassy in Dhaka is currently issuing 30 to 50 visit visas daily. He added that the processing of bulk visas for business delegations has been expedited, which has enhanced people-to-people contact and boosted commercial exchange between the two countries.

UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdullah Ali Al-Hamoudi shared this development during a meeting with Lutf Siddiqi, Special Envoy to the Chief Adviser, on Sunday (May 4) afternoon. During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Hamoudi praised Siddiqi’s recent active engagement with the UAE government. This collaboration included more than half a dozen ministerial-level visits that covered a wide range of topics—from visa facilitation to investment cooperation.
The Ambassador informed the Special Envoy that the UAE Embassy in Dhaka is currently issuing 30 to 50 visit visas daily. He also noted that the processing of bulk visas for business delegations has been accelerated, which has significantly enhanced people-to-people connections and commercial exchanges between the two nations.
Additionally, the UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources has reinstated its online system for skilled employment visas. Recently, visas have been issued to professionals such as marketing managers and hotel staff. The Ambassador mentioned that 500 visas have already been issued for security personnel, while another 1,000 have been approved and are set to be issued soon.
The UAE is expected to gradually ease its visa restrictions over time. According to the statement from the Press Wing, the Ambassador assured that the UAE will continue to show flexibility in processing humanitarian and compassionate cases identified by Bangladeshi authorities.
Special Envoy Siddiqi welcomed the developments and thanked Ambassador Al-Hamoudi for his continued support. He also expressed gratitude for the initiation of discussions on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
The Press Wing further mentioned that a high-level UAE cabinet delegation is scheduled to visit Bangladesh later this month to advance bilateral cooperation.
